HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM MANILA! =)

2011 was amazing. I learned so much and was able to do so many things. I started this year out struggling on the basketball court and just felt "lost." As the year went on, things just got better and better and it all led to a new start, 2012. I'm just really excited for what 2012 has in store for us and I just know it will be better than 2011 =)

Tropfest 2012 Finalists

Tropfest 2012 is just one month away and people are wondering which lucky 16 will be chosen as the Tropfest 2012 Finalists. Making a short film can often be an emotional roller coaster and trust me...it's exhausting. From writing the script to getting actors to a lack of equipment, it can be really time consuming BUT it's all worth it once you're able to see your ideas on screen. In order to be chosen as one of the Tropfest 2012 Finalists, you simply need to get lucky. There will be over a thousand entries next year and "standing out" can almost feel impossible but who knows right?

Last year's 16 Tropfest finalists were all very well made and had some really creative stories and after 19 years of Tropfest, it can be hard to show the judges something new. Self-doubt starts to creep in and well...it's really scary! Just praying that i'll be able to be one of the =) Tropfest 2012 Finalists...

Well, in my 22 years of existence, the first blog that I have ever read is Steph's Traveliztera.blogspot.com. We became friends in October of 2010 and she showed me her weightloss posts and I was seriously amazed that I knew an actual blogger. I continued to follow her blog and noticed that her blog was really different compared to others who kind of...bored me with their posts. She blogs about everything! and really cares about her readers =) She also has a pretty loyal following on YouTube as she loves to post about her loves...Westlife, Orlando bloom and Music. As one of the most talented, smartest and most entertaining people I know, I can't think of anyone else that even comes close to Steph! and yes....she's pretty hot :D

and though people are not shocked, some are wondering what exactly went wrong. As people may know, this celebrity couple has always been questioned as something "fake"? wait…is that the word? umm more like, it just seemed like something was wrong. Piolo and KC Concepcion have been together for about a year now (my random guessing) and I feel like they were just an odd couple overall. KC's interview with Boy Abunda was also not very easy to watch as KC started to cry and admit that "Piolo changed" and she went on to say other things about how angry she was and stuff. A lot of people feel bad for her and I admit I do too but I also am really curious as to what REALLY happened. Ever since Piolo and KC broke up, people are assuming that yes, Piolo Pascual is gay, but…I don't know, maybe he is, maybe he isn't…. but if he was, that's pretty messed up to "use" KC to cover up his…gayness? Anyways, I made a video about the situation and hopefully you guys enjoy =)

YouTube Philippines Finally Launches

YouTube Philippines has finally launched and I am just very curious what this will do for the country. There are plenty of talented people in the Philippines and I am just excited to see more Filipino YouTubers finally get exposure. YouTube in the Philippines has definitely started to grow in popularity and i'm actually kind of surprised that it took THIS long before they finally realized that the Philippines CAN CREATE legit videos. Thank YOU YOUTUBE for finally allowing YouTubers from the Philippines to finally become partners and make money =) Here are some of my favorite YouTubers from the Philippines. With almost 2,000 subscribers, Mshypersinger is one of the most talented YouTubers from the Philippines. Though she is currently studying in Australia, she is still able to create amazing videos...like this one with other Australian YouTubers =)

With almost 12,000 subscribers on his old channel, Kuyagen is starting to build up his new channel while still continuing his "american in the philippines" series...while he's in America?

Since Manny Pacquiao won’t be fighting until November, I know many Filipinos are not excited to watch the Floyd Mayweather Victor Ortiz fight...why?. For boxing fans all over the world though, this is going to be a battle of two different styles. The defensive minded veteran Mayweather will go up against today’s hottest young power hitter Victor Ortiz. LET’S FACE IT, Filipinos all over the world want Floyd Mayweather to lose....but think about it for a second. If Mayweather loses, what do Filipino fans have to forward to in the future?

Since the undefeated Mayweather is by far the only opponent that can give Manny P a run for his money, what exactly will happen to boxing if “Money May” loses? The chances of a Manny Pacquiao Vs Floyd Mayweather fight in 2012 will then be less likely to happen if somehow my third cousin comes out of the ring victorious. If you are from out of the country or just live here in Manila, you definitely have to give the Eastwood City restaurants a try. WHY?! Well... because... I like pizza. “huh?” Yeah that’s right...I like pizza. Who doesn’t? I have tried most of the Pizza restaurants in Eastwood City and I have accumulated all the taste bud memories that my mouth has researched throughout the months and I have been able to now put together an in-depth ranking of Eastwood City's Pizza Restaurants. As one of the best pizza deals at Eastwood City, it is no surprise that the Italian restaurant in the middle of Eastwood City Walk draws customers on a daily basis. Their biggest pepperoni pizza is only 560 pesos and that will feed a family of 7-8 (our family of 5 barely finishes it but we eat a lot). The only thangy thang that I did not like about the pizza...was...the oilyness (which i’m sure a lot of health freaks like myself always worry about). With a little dab of the tissue and you are good to go!

Now we all know what the fuss is about Pizza Hut. Probably one of the most famous Pizza restaurants of all time...BUT WHY DO THEY NOT HAVE PEPPERONI PIZZAS? No really...we ordered every possible concoction for a pizza like a stuffed crust bacon cheeseburger with a pepperoni inside a hot dog with onion rings hanging out the side and when I asked for a pepperoni...they said “We don’t have that.” Huh? (Afterwards...I complained and they said something about how they are able to make the pepperoni pizza, but it has to be custom made...so confusing.) Ok...now that I have that out of the way, YES, the pizza was amazing and I loved every bite of the random pizzas, but how do they not have pepperoni?

In celebration of Yellow Cab’s Ten year anniversary, they had a buy one large pizza and get a 10 inch pizza for free. That’s right...FREE. This New York based pizza company has been around for quite some time now and continues to be a hot spot in Eastwood City. Compared to the pizza that I ate last year...it seems as if the pizza has gotten thinner? Maybe since they gave a free pizza, they just halfed the dough? Well...anyways, the pizza was great like expected and the price of an 18 incher was only 700-800 depending on what you want as toppings.

UCC and their Chicken Teriyaki Individual Pizza!

As one of the most unique pizzas that I have ever tried, I am surprised that UCC is still not “known” for their pizza. Though a chicken teriyaki pizza is nothing groundbreaking, the way that UCC created this masterpiece was definitely what set this mouthwatering creation apart from the everyday pizza. With a distinct chicken teriyaki flavor that Steph a.k.a Traveliztera (she loves chicken teriyaki) would enjoy, I am sure that pizza and chicken teriyaki lovers will definitely enjoy this one of a kind dish.

When I got to the Philippines, I had no idea how different everything was compared to California. In San Francisco, I would see garage and yard sales, but I have yet to see one here in the Philippines. Maybe because there are not too many garages and yards? Not sure haha.

So fast forward to 2011 and I now live in Eastwood City (in the heart of the Philippines..sort of) pretty much the "City that never sleeps". As an internet junkie like myself....I don't really get out much (lonerrr) but I do get my fair share of walks around the "backyard". So today we take a little stroll around Manila's yard sale...
